Only a month and a half to 23rd April St George's day in exactly the same way the Welsh celebrate St David's day! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-12601214 This year I am hoping to see masses of England flags. I have a 12 foot Cross of St George for the flag pole. In this time of economic austerity, or 'disaster' as |i prefer to call it what better to cheer us all up that the fluttering and colour of thousands of flags. |

It seems that the ban on drivers having theEngland flag on their number plates is over. We can now have the flag on the plate and not fail the MOT, thank to the Sun article below. PATRIOTIC drivers will be able to display the Union Flag or the St George’s Cross on their number plates from today. Until now they could only display the EU flag. Any others could have led to a fine or failure of an MoT. The new rules also allow motorists in Scotland and Wales to fly the Saltire or red dragon. Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon plans to fly a Union Flag on his ministerial car. He said: “I was determined to bring about this change in the law because national flags are a healthy expression of the pride we have in our country. “I hope many will celebrate their national identity by flying the flag.” |
